In addition to normal surgeries the doctors also hold the following clinics:

- Antenatal & Postnatal Care
- Cervical Smears
Our practice nurses are fully qualified in all the traditional nursing skills and have extra training, many to diploma level, in areas such as taking smears, family planning, the management of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and diabetes.
Practice nurses appointments can be made by telephoning 01236 727816. The practice nurses share with doctors in the management of the following clinics
Clinics
Well Women Clinic – Smears, contraception, HRT and general lifestyle advice available.
Well Man Clinic – Advice on specific male health issues and general lifestyle advice available.
Chronic Disease – Dedicated to the care of our patients who have a chronic disease.
Over 75’s – All patients over 75 are offered an annual check-up.
Asthma and COPD – These clinics are run by the practice nurse. Your condition will be monitored and relevant medication prescribed.
Phlebotomy - Appointments are made at reception. Alternatively appointments can be made at Central Health Centre Treatment Room on 01698 755025.
The Triage Nurse
Triage nurses work in conjunction with the doctors to offer quick access to a healthcare professional who will office advice for self care, issue prescriptions if appropriate and refer to the GP if necessary
We have a Minor Ailments Clinic whereby patients can be assessed by one of our nurse practitioners. The nurses have undertaken specific training in assessment, examination, diagnosis and prescribing for a varitey of common ailments.
We aim to offer a prompt, effective and efficient service ensuring patients receive appropriate treatment and health promotion/education for their ailments. Appointments are made at reception.
Patients looking for urgent on-the-day appointments should give some details to the receptionist who will arrange for the Triage Nurse to call them back.
Health Visitors
Health Visitors are senior nurses who have completed a degree in Health Visiting. Ourservice aims to promote the health of a whole communication. Practical support and advice is offered to a wide range of clients in a host of diverse situations including:
- Health visitor drop-in consultation (Child Health Clinics)
- Home visiting
- Child development assessments
- Immunisation
- Family stress
- Working with groups
- Depression

Musculoskeletal problems - Patients can self refer to a non-emergency help services for advice, information and assessment of muscle and joint problems at the following number 0800 917 9390 between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday or visit www.nhsinform.co.uk/msk.
Minor ailments service: contact your local pharmacist
Skin Lesion Clinic – this is to enable you to be seen locally and referral is made by a doctor for removal of cysts, etc.
Referrals - if your GP made a referral for you to be seen at Hospital you can check progress on this by calling Referral Management Service on 0300 3030 0249. The office is open: Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 7.30pm and Fridays 9am to 4pm.
